Nafta ili Matrica Znanja Oil or the Matrix of Knowledges
The first international production by Brazilian choreographers Ângelo Madureira and Ana Catarina Vieira, featuring five Croatian dancers. Remainder is the first of a series of performances in the process of the making of BADco.’s new production Is There Life on Stage?. A project that will reach its final phase at the end of 2012, Is There Life on Stage? is an exploration at the intersection of two problem fields: the environment and realism in theater. The encrypted title of the performance is a chemical code for dopamine, a neurotransmitter in the brain that goes wild while person is at psychotic state of mind. The director and one of the performers is a sculptor who uses kinetic sculptures while choreographing scenes. He uses live human bodies as the main material for modeling and on the surface of his own body he intervenes from the inside out using his muscles and bones. Kinetic sculptures become incubators for the development of schizophrenic disease that devastated, distorted and tear them apart to complete lost of identity. Their motion, the lights that refracted on them and lived produced frequencies create an intensive schizophrenic atmosphere on stage that audience will feel and experience (…)
