Damir Bartol Indoš među laureatima na natječajnoj izložbi T-HT u MSU

Od 249 radova, koliko ih je ove godine pristiglo na natječajnu izložbu T-HT, među 40 odabranih našla se i instalacija Damira Bartola Indoša iz predstave ‘Kriegspiel’ koja je izvedena na prošlogodišnjem Festivalu Perforacije. Upravo se Indoševa instalacija našla i među tri nagrađene na sinoćnjoj ceremoniji zatvaranja postava, što je posebna čast uzmemo li u obzir da se radi o najprestižnijoj otkupnoj nagradi u recentom vizualnom umjetničkom stvaralaštvu i činjenici da će instalacija od sada biti dio fundusa Muzeja suvremene umjetnosti.

‘Kriegspiel’ Damira Bartola Indoša i Tanje Vrvilo predstavlja inačicu šaha zasnovanom na Von Clausewitzovoj teoriji ratovanja i konkretnim Napoleonovim pohodima. Iako patent ‘Kriegspiela’ nije postao popularniji od šaha, u uskim krugovinma ostao je fascinantan primjer kombinacije igre i teorijskog uvida. Damir Bartol Indoš već je desetljećima jedinstvena pojava na domaćoj izvedbenoj sceni, zagledan u obzor filozofije i ishodišta performansa. Bez obzira je li u njima primaran pokret, gesta, glazba ili tekst, njegovi su radovi uvijek i igra, i sve ono što je od igre puno ozbiljnije.

Kako nam je rekao Damir Bartol Indoš, ova nagrada za njega predstavlja uspostavljanje ideje vrijednosti rada u smislu javnog kulturnog dobra, materijaliziranog i pohranjenog u instituciji muzeja suvremenog umjetničkog karaktera. „Iz faze anonimne vrijednosti prelazim u fazu općeg kanona onoga što specijalisti procjenjuju kao umjetnički aktualno-novoostvareno, u vremenu koje nije niti sadašnje, pa stoga ne može biti niti prošlo ili buduće“, kaže o svom prvom radu u fundusu Muzeja za suvremenu umjetnosti, konkretno, o prvom modelu opružne zvučne kutije pod nazivom ‘Šahtofon’, model 4132.

Podsjetimo, ‘Šahtofon’ je proizašao iz performansa koji bez pomoći Festivala Perforacije i Kulture promjene zagrebačkog SC-a ne bi danas postojao u ovom obliku. Bez ove suradnje Šahtofoni kao alatke za igru Kriegsspiela ne bi postojale, niti bi se dogodilo postojanje Šahtofona kao interaktivne skulpture na izložbi THT-MSU. „Važno je napomenuti veliki trud Tanje Vrvilo na konceptu performansa i izvođačko-teritorijskog osmišljavanja tajne postojanja Čovjekom Šahtofonom. Video život Šahtofona hrane slike Ivana Marušića Klifa i svjetlosna energija Damira Kruhaka a glazbu koja stupa u otvorenu linije komunikacije sa Šahtovonima mene i Tanje proizvodi Helge Hinteregger“, rekao nam je Indoš ne želeći izostaviti nikog iz uspješnog performerskog tima.

Između ostalog, radi se i o uspjehu Festivala Perforacije, odnosno udruge Domino koja stoji iza njega, koja je uz Kulturu promjene još jednom prepoznala umjetnički potencijal izvedbenog djela prije nego što su to učinile institucije i organizacije koje se pozamašnim svotama financiraju iz državnog proračuna, kao što je i natječajna izložba T-HT-a uz obilnu financijsku potporu moćnog partnera; tim više uzmemo li u obzir da i sami navode na svojim službenim stranicama kako je „peto izdanje natječaja potvrdilo kako projekt okuplja ponajbolje domaće umjetnike i donosi reprezentativan presjek trenutne scene … pred stručno povjerenstvo s nimalo laganim zadatkom“.

‘Kriegsspiel’ će ove godine biti izveden na Terraneo festivalu u Šibeniku 10. kolovoza, na festivalu suvremenog kazališta ‘Zadar snova’ 12. kolovoza, Akto festivalu Bitola 15. kolovoza, 9. rujna na Zoom festivalu u Rijeci te 12.9. u Art radionici Lazareti u Dubrovniku.

Damir Bartol Indoš wins T-HT@MSU award

Out of 249 submissions for the Exhibition T-HT at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Zagreb, 40 were selected. In this selection there is Damir Bartol Indoš’s installation from the play ‘Kriegspiel’ which was performed at last year’s Perforations Festival. The same installation was among three that were awarded at last night’s ceremony of closing the Exhibition, which is a special honor given the fact that this is the most prestigious award in the recent visual and artistic work and the fact that from now on installation becomes part of the MSU fundus.

Damir Bartol Indoš’es and Tanja Vrvilo’s ‘Kriegspiel’ presents a version of chess based on Von Clausewitz theory of warfare and Napoleon’s specific campaigns. Although the patent of ‘Kriegspiel’ did not become more popular than chess, in tight circles it remained a fascinating example of a combination of game and theoretical insights. Damir Bartol Indoš has been for decades a unique phenomenon in the local performing scene, gazing into the horizon of philosophy and performance outcomes. Regardless of whether the priority is the movement, gesture, music or text, his pieces were always a game, and everything that is much more serious than the game.

Just like Damir Bartol Indoš said to us, this award represents the creation of idea of valuable work in a sense of public cultural good, materialized and stored in an institution of a modern museum character. „From the phase of anonymous value I’m going towards the phase of general cannon of what specialists believe as artistically actual-newly made, in time that is not neither present, so it couldn’t be past or future“, he says about his first work included in the MSU fundus, to be specific, about the first model of spring soundbox called ‘Šahtofon’, model 4132.

It should be reminded that ‘Šahtofon’ came from the performance who, without the help of Perforations Festival and Kultura Promjene (Student Center Zagreb), wouldn’t exist today in this form. Without this collaboration Šahtofon as a tool for ‘Kriegspiel’ play wouldn’t exist, nor would Šahtofon ended up as an interactive sculpture in THT-MSU exhibition. „It’s important to note important work of Tanja Vrvilo on performance concept and the secret of becoming Šahtofon-man. Video lives of Šahtofon are being fed by the pictures of Ivan Marušić Klif, light energy of Damir Kruhak and music that becomes an open line of communication between mine and Tanja’s Šahtofon is being produced by Helge Hintergger“, says Indoš, not wanting to miss anyone from the team.

Among other things, this is a huge success of Perforations Festival and NGO Domino that stands behind it, which has with Kultura promjene once again recognized artistic potential of performative art piece before that happened inside the institutions and organizations that are being financed by huge amounts of money from state budget, just like exhibit T-HT has envious financial partner behind itself; and even more if we take in consideration that the sole organizers on their official pages say that „the fifht exhibition confirmed that this project gathers the best homeland artists and representatives of actual scene … in front of experts with a hard task of picking the best“.

‘Kriegspiel’ will this year be performed at Terraneo festival in Šibenik (August 10th), festival of modern theatre ‘Zadar snova’ in Zadar (August 12th), Akto festival in Bitola (August 15th), Zoom Festival in Rijeka (September 9th) and Art workshop Lazareti in Dubrovnik (September 12th).
