Damir Bartol Indoš među izlagačima na izložbi T-HT u Muzeju suvremene umjetnosti
|
— Damir Bartol Indoš among the exhibitors at the show T-HT in the Museum of Contemporary Art. Out of 249 submissions for the Exhibition T-HT at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Zagreb, 40 were selected. In this selection there is Damir Bartol Indoš’s installation from the play „Kriegspiel“ which was performed at last year’s Perforations Festival. Damir Bartol Indoš’es and Tanja Vrvilo’s „Kriegspiel“ presents a version of chess based on Von Clausewitz theory of warfare and Napoleon’s specific campaigns. Although the patent of „Kriegspiel“ did not become more popular than chess, in tight circles it remained a fascinating example of a combination of game and theoretical insights. Damir Bartol Indoš has been for decades a unique phenomenon in the local performing scene, gazing into the horizon of philosophy and performance outcomes. Regardless of wether the priority is the movement, gesture, music or text, his pieces were always a game, and everything that is much more serious than the game. Five works exhibited weren’t submitted but were selected by the curators ot the Museum of Contemporary Art as part of the exhibition T-HT. In this selection of 5 there was also the Croatian queer artist Silvio Vujičić which we remember for his zebra with colors of the rainbow from the setup „Tra/ns/vestije“ which was an integral part of the Queer Zagreb Festival on 2004. The new instalation of Vujičić will be exhibited in the Museum of Contemporary Art. It consists of nine framed pieces and one physical object that changes during the exhibition, as transformations of material are the basis of Vujičić’s work. Several pieces submitted to this year’s exhibition are dedicated to the character and work of Tomislav Gotovac, so this year’s T-HT release can be understood as a small homage to this great artist whose uncompromising work has left and irreplaceable mark not only in Croatian, but also in international contemporary art. The winning exhibition officially opened on February 24 and can be seen until March 25. |
